I had taught myself how to use a gun and how to survive. No one, not even the hard core survivalists thought that the world would end the way that it did.”

Returning to her hometown of Fjallbacka after the funeral of her parents, writer Erica Falck finds a community on the brink of tragedy. The death of her childhood friend, Alex, is just the beginning. Her wrists slashed, her body frozen in an ice-cold bath, it seems that she has taken her own life.

Erica conceives a book about the beautiful but remote Alex, one that will answer questions about their own shared past. While her interest grows into an obsession, local detective Patrik Hedstrom is following his own suspicions about the case. But it is only when they start working together that the truth begins to emerge about a small town with a deeply disturbing past.

Review
I feel happyness with this book, that is, there are many books that I like and I think they deserve the best rating or nearly the best but in this I fall in love right from the start.

The cover is simple but I've always loved the snow and how this is present in the cover with the woman called his attention. I can not recognize the scene as it appears but from my point of view, the place can be Fjällbacka and the woman Erica (our main character).

Only two days were needed to read it and their characters have become part of me and captivated me. On one hand we have Erica. She is not aware but she is constantly looking for love while her sister Anna, has found it many years ago, and shares her life with Lucas, father of Emma and Adrian and hated by Erica.

A murder in the small town of Fjällbacka makes Erica's life changes radically as she is covered by a layer of mystery and intrigue that she will share with Patrik, a cop from the town, who unwittingly gets involved fully in the investigation of the murder of Alex while his boss seems to be in bad mood and to believe he is better than any of those around him.

A thriller with a particular style. The writing is clear, simple and bearable that will do to you devour the book. Also do not we have a story that's only mystery because the author has found a perfect way to mix a love story with a great intrigue.

You believe that there is a murderer or more, one dead, two or even three and thousands of possible outcomes but it is difficult to see and decipher all until the end. Many things will surprise you!!!.

I must say that I am (and will be) a fan of Camilla Läckberg. Too much expectations for the next book? I do not think I will be disappointed!

His innocence and amiability seemed to make him an
irresistible magnet for women who ate men for breakfast and
then spat out the remains.

The best: everything.
The worst: it is perfect for me so there is nothing to add here .
